100th Anniversary of Women Voting

Today more than ever we understand the importance of voting in the United States. A hundred years ago, however, women were voting for the first time across the country. Some states, including California, had already given women the vote. In 1920, though, women in every state across the nation would vote.

My great great grandmother, Ellen VanValkenburgh, was an early advocate for votes for women. Watch this short video to learn more about her.
