by Jordan and Sean

The novel The Unwanteds, by Lisa McMann, is about Alex, who is an Unwanted and wanted to bring his twin brother to Artime. But if he does bring him, he would risk the exposure of Artime.

The Unwanteds is a wonderful fantasy book. There are many characters that you, the reader, can relate to. Alex, Lani, Samheed, and many other characters are easy to understand because they act and have the same feelings as someone their age. Also The Unwanteds is like some of the popular books combined. The Kirkus Reviews stated, “The Hunger Games Meets Harry Potter.” This statement is true because the Unwanteds in the story get sent off to die similar to The Hunger Games. Also, there is magic in the story just like the Harry Potter series.  The Unwanteds has a very creative plot. There are interesting twists-and-turns that the main characters go through. For example, in the story, Alex goes through a mental break down, which affects the story a lot.

The Unwanteds is a great fantasy to read. It is easy to relate to the characters and is like a mix of popular books. The problems that the main characters go through make the story very exciting. So go out and read The Unwanteds, by Lisa Mcmann.

This book was ranked #3 in the Novel Madness.

The Unwanteds seems like a good book. I will probably read it after I am done with the series I’m reading. It also seems true that the Hunger Games meets Harry Potter. I have only read the Hunger Games series so I will try to read it

  2. The Unwanteds book is full of great detail and description. When you read the book, you can really feel the feelings and hardships that Alex went through. Alex went through a lot of trouble in order to keep his brother out of trouble. Once I started to read the Unwanteds, I couldn’t put it down. I think that The Unwanteds is a great book!

  3. I recently finished The Unwanteds and I truly loved it. I agree with Sean that you can feel Alex’s emotions. I stayed up all night reading the book, and it truly does have the Hunger Games meeting Harry Potter. The Unwanteds is a fantastic novel.
